Advocating on behalf of the mental health and substance use disorder system of care is more important now than ever. Helping people understand that there is no health without mental health and that care and treatment works is an on-going challenge. But, there is strength in numbers and that is why we are always looking to grow our membership and expand our reach.
The Nebraska Association of Behavioral Health Organizations (NABHO) has for over 25 years worked hard to advocate for policies that support behavioral health providers and consumers. In 2022, we helped to secure the largest provider rate increase in history. Other priorities include support for telehealth, review of regulations, engagement with managed care companies, and regular meetings and communication with the Division of Medicaid and Long Term Care, Division of Behavioral Health, Division of Children and Families, and Probation.
Our monthly meetings bring us together for networking, policy updates, and programs of interest. As a state association we are a 100% member of the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, our advocacy arm at the federal level, and provide education and conference opportunities to members at discounted rates.
